I joined Doris in January 2016 after completing my degree in Primary Teaching and my first assignment was in a leading retail bank in a
management support role in Test Services. In this role I was responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from performing a Risk & Governance role
where I designed and carried out risk controls on Test Services processes to resource management where I automated governance checks on resource
request forms. I interacted directly with senior management and provided information and other metrics to improve service delivery. This was a steep
learning curve for me but I quickly became a valued member of the team and was regularly called on to solve all types of problems.
My current second assignment is in the same Test Services team but this time as a Functional Test Analyst where my role is to review application
design documents and prepare test scenarios based on these documents in order to carry out in depth software tests to ensure the functionality of
the application, attention to detail is a key skill here.
Working at Doris requires a wide range of skills and part of the attraction of what Doris offer is that they can provide you with the advice and
guidance to help you through developing certain skills with the mentoring structure they have in place. Doris has given me a fantastic opportunity to
get into the world of IT and have opened up lots of different routes which will allow me to progress forward with both them and my career.
