I have worked in IT for over 32 years across industry sectors including chemicals, IT outsourcing, pharmaceuticals and banking. I started out in systems and business analysis, project and programme management, but discovered about 16 years ago that my passion was for the people I managed, more than the projects. This led me into a number of line management roles and I am now proud and delighted to work with Doris as a Mentor to some of the fabulous Trainees.
Early in my career, I was blessed to work with a wonderful Senior Business Analyst who was my mentor and coach and I worked alongside him for well over a year. At the time, I didn’t realise how lucky I was, but I now firmly believe that supporting people early in their careers, sharing experiences and helping develop skills and confidence can have a huge and lasting impact. Apart from the personal satisfaction I get from being a Mentor, I learn lots of new things from the Trainees too - no two days are ever the same for me and I love the variety of the mentoring discussions we have.
Outside of work, family takes priority. I love going to the theatre and am drawn to anything involving nature and wildlife - whether on the TV or in the great outdoors.
