Prior to joining Doris I worked in a number of roles including coffee shop and property management in which I developed organisational and interpersonal skills which are currently being put to good use in my assignment. I get to meet with my mentor on a regular basis which allows me to express my opinions and how I feel I can develop. My views are always supported and since being with the company I have learned new things which have helped me grow both professionally and technically.
I joined Doris in May 2016 and was placed into a split role; half of my time dedicated to project support for an IT Risk Programme and the remainder as an Application Risk Analyst where I, in a team of other Dorisers, we were tasked to review the logical access management of applications within a Retail Bank with the aim of centralising the process into a single team. Both roles allowed me to use analytical thinking and build my network.
I felt both roles were well chosen by Doris to fit my skill set and they gave me an excellent opportunity within a retail bank to start to build a career within the IT industry.
I have now moved into my second assignment working within Service Delivery having recently completed my ITIL qualification - supported by Doris - where my main tasks are as an intermediary between Service Management and Risk, completing self assessments and closing issues with evidence.
