After 3 years working in IT on assignment at The Co-operative Bank as an OAT Test Analyst, I had gained a lot of experience. I was confident working with all of the applications and knew the steps I would need to take to successfully test applications for projects that came my way. However, I know companies don’t all work in the same way.
I was approached by my Doris mentor and was told about an amazing opportunity working for Capgemini on assignment at a financial services company in Nottingham. I knew that this would give me the opportunity to broaden my experience within testing including a change of role using new testing techniques and applications. I know how diverse testing can be across different companies and I knew this was the right time for me to try something new and widen my knowledge within testing.
I headed for my interview in August where I met the Project Manager and Test Lead and they told me about the amazing project they would like me to work on if I was successful. After an interview, they offered me a role as a Systems and UAT Test Analyst.
I am really enjoying my time working for Capgemini. I’ve settled into the team and we’ve been working on numerous application updates that have already been put into production. I have worked as the Test Lead for part of the project, liaising with the PM, Systems Managers and 3rd party consultants, successfully implementing the updates. I am now working on a major project, which will support customers in financial difficulty.
I have loved moving to a new city and working in the city centre, meeting so many new people. I am looking forward to continuing with my assignment and completing this project. I am excited to continue to work with Capgemini and see what potential future assignments they will have for me.
